Ingredients
3 tablespoons water
1 cup sticky rice, cooked
4 tablespoons gluten-free flour
½ cup roasted red pepper, chopped
¼ cup Kalamata olives, chopped
¼ cup basil, chopped
¼ cup fresh spinach, chopped
1 teaspoon sea salt
½ teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon black pepper
¼ teaspoon cayenne
Directions
  1. Place grill on low heat.
  2. In a small bowl, combine flax seed meal with water. Set aside for 2 to3 minutes, or until slightly gelatinous.
  3. In large bowl, mix together cooked quinoa, cooked sticky rice, flour, pepper, olives, basil, spinach, and spices.
  4. Add flax mixture and 1 teaspoon olive oil. Mix well.
  5. Form quinoa mixture into uniform 4 inch patties (approximately 1/3 each).
  6. Lightly oil both sides of each quinoa burger and place towards the edges of the grill.
  7. Sear on side 1 for 5 to 10 minutes or until the quinoa burger has firmed. Be careful not to overcook, as the rice may burn.
  8. Flip and sear on side 2 for 3 to 5 minutes or until the burger has reached desired firmness.
  9. Serve warm with a creamy avocado sauce and kale chips.
