Clinical Studies Done to Support the Following Claims
NOW® Sports uses myHMB®, a patented form of HMB that has been clinically tested and CherryPURE®, a patented form of tart cherry powder that has been clinically tested.
Resistance Training Study
Randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled; 48 healthy, elderly men (aged 66-78 years).
Results: Mean abdominal fat mass value was significantly lower in the resistance training + HMB group compared to the no training + placebo, no training + HMB and resistance training + placebo.*1
Although this study used a 3 g daily dose, we expect that the 750 mg used in our product will contribute to the preservation of muscle tissue.
Experimental Bed Rest Study
Prospective, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled; 24 healthy, older adults on experimental bed rest (aged 60-79 years).
Results: Supplementation with HMB preserved lean body mass in older adults during 10 days of bed rest compared to control.*2

Half-Marathon Race Study
Prospective, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled; 27 endurance-trained runners or triathletes (aged 17-26 years).
Results: Overall, the participants in the CherryPURE® group ran a 13% faster half-marathon pace compared to the placebo group.* CherryPURE® group had 34% lower pre-run perceived soreness and significantly reduced muscle soreness in the medial quadriceps compared to the placebo group.*3
Back Squat Exercise Study
Randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled; 23 healthy, resistance-trained men (aged 18-24 years).
Results: CherryPURE® group had significantly reduced muscle soreness in the vastus lateralis compared to the placebo group.* The CherryPURE® group also had less change in serum creatinine and total protein over time and from pre-lift levels compared to the placebo group.*4
Soccer Players Sleep and Performance Study
Randomized, double-blind, parallel group; 20 healthy, male soccer players (aged 16-20 years).
Results: Nightly supplementation with 5 mg melatonin improved physical performance and protected tissues against the negative effects of reactive oxygen species and cellular damage in male athletes undergoing twice-per-day training sessions.* After training camp, melatonin alleviated the deterioration in physical performance compared to placebo.*5
