Scientifically Backed Advanced Joint Support
NOW Sports® Advanced Joint Support uses AprèsFlex®
A proprietary Boswellia extract that relieves occasional minor pain resulting from overexertion or stress.*
Soccer Players Cartilage Metabolism Study
Randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled; 43 collegiate soccer players without joint disorders.
Results: Oral administration of glucosamine (2 g/day for 16 weeks) exerts an action of protecting cartilage from breaking down in healthy subjects (soccer players) without joint disorders.* This effect was achieved by improving cartilage metabolism (suppressing type II collagen degradation but maintaining type II collagen synthesis).*1
Effects of AprèsFlex® on Pain, Physical Function and Joint Stiffness*
Double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled; 57 subjects with functional knee pain and otherwise healthy (aged 40-80 years).
Results: In comparison with placebo group, the AprèsFlex® group exhibited statistically significant improvements in all parameters tested.* The AprèsFlex® group showed improvements by 47.3% in visual analog scale (VAS), 35.8% in Lequesne's Functional Index (LFI), 61.7% WOMAC pain, 60.1% in WOMAC stiffness and 49.4% WOMAC functional.*2
Effects of AprèsFlex® on Pain, Physical Function and Joint Stiffness*
Double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled; 60 subjects with functional knee pain and otherwise healthy.
Results: In comparison with placebo, supplementation of AprèsFlex® for 30 days conferred 37.6, 32, 40.1, 41.3 and 38.8 percent reductions in VAS, LFI, WOMAC pain, WOMAC stiffness and WOMAC function scores, respectively.* Significant reductions in VAS and LFI scores were also observed in AprèsFlex® group over placebo by day 5.* AprèsFlex® supplementation showed 14.8% and 16.3% better reduction in VAS and LFI scores respectively over placebo by 5th day.*3
Effects of AprèsFlex® on Pain, Physical Function and Joint Stiffness*
Double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled; 70 subjects with functional knee pain and otherwise healthy.
Results: Significant reductions in pain and function scores were observed on day 5 of supplementation of AprèsFlex® (100 mg/day) compared to baseline and to placebo.* Significant reductions in all the pain scores were observed in the AprèsFlex® group on day 30 of supplementation when compared with the placebo group.*4
