NOW Compliance to California Supply Chain Transparency Law
Like many responsible and ethical manufacturers, NOW is aware that child labor, slavery, and other forms of human trafficking are a very real problem. Each time we audit our ingredient suppliers, we’re also on the lookout for any signs of human trafficking.
In NOW’s 50-year history we’ve never found indications that any of our suppliers are guilty of such transgressions. Nevertheless, we remain vigilant and are always exploring ways to take further action to verify the integrity of our supply chains in this regard. If we ever were to encounter such activity, during an audit or otherwise, we would immediately cease any business dealings, report the offender, and begin searching for a more ethical supplier.
In compliance with the California Transparency in Supply Chains Act, at this time NOW:
- Engages in verification of product supply chains to evaluate and address risks of human trafficking and slavery.
- Conducts audits of suppliers to evaluate supplier compliance with company standards for trafficking and slavery in supply chains.
- Requires direct suppliers to certify that materials incorporated into a product comply with laws regarding slavery and human trafficking in the country or countries in which they conduct business.
- Maintains internal accountability standards and procedures for employees or contractors failing to meet company standards regarding slavery and trafficking.
- Provides training on human trafficking and slavery to company employees and management who are directly responsibility for supply chain management, particularly with respect to mitigating risks within the supply chain of products.
