Hi! I am Heather Casey

a lifelong athlete driven by unrelenting perseverance and a core belief that exercise is medicine—not just for the body but for the soul. I've spent a lifetime exploring movement and health, from competitive swimming as a child to triathlons in my teens, and now running a sports performance studio and cycle café in Salt Lake City.

I began swimming competitively at age six, under the guidance of coaches inspired by Auburn University's swimming legacy. Their influence sparked my journey toward coaching, though it wasn't until later that I fully realized the power of movement. My dad’s advice to a moody teenager—“Heather, exercise every day, and your brain will be happy”—became my guiding light. I leaned on that wisdom through every twist and turn, saving me more times than I can count.

I discovered triathlon in 1986 by doing a sprint race with my dad, and I’ve loved endurance sports ever since. In college, I traded swim goggles for mountain bike trails, introducing me to the joys of beer and backcountry adventures. Life wasn't always linear. My 30s saw me juggling a career as a personal trainer, running women's boot camps, and facing struggles I never imagined. During a dark chapter, I fell into an abusive relationship that almost silenced my spark. My wake-up call came in 2011 when a female police officer gave me a ride to a hotel, telling me I had to leave or I wouldn’t survive. It took one more broken wrist, two broken ribs, and a concussion to walk away for good—but that purple cast on my arm became a symbol of my resilience.

With support from friends and a domestic violence center, I found my way back. Exercise became my medicine again, starting with training for a marathon with that purple cast still on. I soon met Pat, a fantastic partner and now my husband. In 2013, I set my sights on IRONMAN Canada, a race that marked my reclamation of body, spirit, and mind. Since then, I’ve completed five IRONMAN events, including the World Championships in Hawaii in 2017.

These days, I’m the CEO of Peak State Fit, a thriving sports performance studio and CycleCafe that I run with my husband, Pat. We focus on building a hub for athletes, dog lovers, coffee enthusiasts, and cyclists in Salt Lake City. We've created an atmosphere that integrates my lifelong passions—movement, community, and health. Our CycleCafe is where endurance culture meets third-wave coffee, becoming a proper home base for the local community.

I’m still deeply embedded in the IRONMAN community—as a Regional Head Coach, Race Official, and mentor to new coaches—but my focus has shifted. At 52, I've moved away from 20-hour training weeks and embraced lifting weights to support healthy aging. I'm still obsessed with bikes but have traded my triathlon bike for road and gravel, exploring Utah and beyond with Pat and our four dogs. My favorite workouts are more about connection—hiking, cycling, or just soaking in Utah's sun with my dogs.

NOW® supplements are integral to my daily life—a toolkit that fuels me from dawn to dusk. At this stage, health is about balance and sustainability, and I’m proud to be an ambassador for a company that shares my commitment to honest, high-quality nutrition.
