NOW Announces Quality Team Promotion and New Hire
NOW Director of Quality Katarzyna “Katie” Banaszewski has been promoted to Senior Director of Quality, and Yalda Shokooh, PharmD, Ph.D., has joined NOW as Director of Science and Nutrition overseeing the Nutritional Science department.

Since joining NOW in 2013, Katie has played an integral role in growing NOW’s analytical capabilities. In her new role as Senior Director of Quality, she focuses on recent issues within the dietary supplement industry and ensures NOW continues to be the industry leader in holding high quality standards. Prior to joining NOW, Katie worked at the Institute for Food Safety and Health, collaborating with the academia, industry, and FDA partners. Katie has authored and co-authored multiple journal articles and is actively involved with the scientific community, learning and sharing her knowledge with others.
Dr. Shokooh has extensive experience in food/drug chemistry, laboratory set-up, formulation and Pharmacognosy. She was most recently a professor at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine instructing students on Pharmacology and the drug effects/side effects while serving as a Principal Scientist managing the Phytochemistry labs. She has been working in the natural products field for 18 years with nine years of management and leadership experience.
