CoQ10 100 mg - Pharmacokinetic (pK) Study
Bioavailability study
Coenzyme Q10, or CoQ10, is an essential component of cells necessary for mitochondrial energy production, and for the support of healthy cardiovascular and immune system function.* Three healthy female volunteers 32 to 51 years old participated in a clinical trial to study the bioavailability of CoQ10 Softgels, a dietary supplement by NOW® (item # 3208). Serum CoQ10 was measured at baseline, and 2, 4, 6 and 8 hours following oral administration of 1 softgel providing 100 mg of CoQ10.
Results
Average coQ10 level peaked two hours following supplementation, reaching 18% above baseline levels. The average coQ10 returned to the baseline level 8 hours post-supplementation. The study confirms the bioavailability of dietary supplement CoQ10 Softgels by NOW®.
Average serum coQ10 level following single oral administration of CoQ10 100 mg Softgels (NOW®, product # 3208) in healthy female volunteers.
