David Evans
My name is David Evans
I studied electrical engineering (bachelor’s) and systems engineering (master’s) at Stevens Institute of Technology. When I am not engineering, I travel the country playing various volleyball events. I currently play professional indoor volleyball in the VLA for LVC. I also play semi-professional outdoor volleyball in both grass and beach events.
I grew up in Rochester playing many sports including ice hockey, soccer, and table tennis. Through high school (Penfield) and club (Pace) volleyball, my passion for the game continued to grow. During that time, I spent my weeknights playing indoor volleyball and my weekends playing beach tournaments whenever possible.
In 2015, our college team at Stevens won the national championship on our home floor. Stevens is a tech school that was founded in 1870, and is primarily known for its education. It was the first team national championship in school history, which made it even more special.
After school, I was honored to receive an opportunity to continue my career overseas in Germany. I played for one season, and then decided to begin my engineering career while continuing to play volleyball in the leagues in the USA.
I am currently coaching at Pittsburgh Elite, where I train young adults in preparation for college volleyball.
I live and train in Pittsburgh, and travel the country to play volleyball events on all 3 surfaces (indoor, grass, and sand).
