Hi! My name is Danielle Colaprico

I play professional soccer for the San Diego Wave of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). I have also played professionally in Australia for Adelaide United and Sydney FC of the W-League. Growing up I always looked up to my family, especially my brother. My brother played soccer and I always wanted to do everything that he was doing. When I turned four years old I spent countless days kicking the ball around in the backyard with his friends and him. My parents are both hard workers and very committed to their careers. Their drive, hard work, and commitment motivate me to be the best player I can be every day. Up until high school, I played for an all-boys premier-level team coached by my Father. This experience in a high-level boys’ league challenged me in ways that cultivated the competitive edge I bring to the game today.

When I began the college process, I knew I wanted to attend a school where I could balance out academics and athletics. After visiting the University of Virginia, I knew this was where I wanted to continue my soccer career. I played four years of Division 1 soccer for the Cavaliers and graduated in three and a half years with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. After attending UVA, I knew my soccer career couldn’t be over.

With all the sacrifices made and hard work put in, I owed it to myself to give it a shot and entered the 2015 NWSL draft. I was drafted to the Chicago Red Stars.  After several unforgettable years in Chicago, I decided to sign with one of the NWSL’s newer clubs, the San Diego Wave, in the winter of 2022. I have absolutely loved my experience in San Diego with the Wave thus far and can’t wait to see what the future holds!

I love my sport and I am very grateful that I can call soccer my job! I’ve learned so much through soccer, not only on the field but also off. Soccer has played a huge role in who I am today and each day I continue to learn something new about myself. It’s my 6th year playing professionally and I now more than ever have learned the importance of taking care of your body. Recovery and nutrition are just as important to me as practice/games to enable me to perform at my best. This is exactly why I have added NOW® products to my daily routine. I can focus more on my training and games, knowing I can always rely on NOW to keep my daily nutrition right.
