Ally Watt
Hey there! My name is Ally
I'm a professional soccer player for Orlando Pride in the NWSL. I previously played for the OL Reign in Tacoma, and prior to that was originally drafted 6th overall by the North Carolina Courage in 2020. I also spent time in Australia playing for Melbourne City. Before I went pro I spent my college days at Texas A&M (go Aggies!).
When I was at school I not only spent time on the pitch playing soccer, but I was also an avid track athlete. I hope my school records are still standing!
I certainly haven't been the luckiest with injuries, I tore my ACL and meniscus in my first game back in 2020. It was heartbreaking and really disappointing, not how I imagined my NWSL debut would go.
Sustaining a serious injury is a difficult process for any athlete, but during a pandemic, things were even more difficult. Once I finally had the surgery and was trying to do rehab, gyms weren’t open and physical therapy had very limited hours because of COVID restrictions. I just wanted to be out there on the pitch.
Despite a few setbacks, I continued to push hard every day with my recovery. When the time finally arrived and I was cleared to play, it was a lot for me to take in.
It took over 13 months for me to get there but getting back out on the field and playing for OL Reign was a dream come true. I'm now in the best shape I've ever been, and more than ready for the season ahead.
